Ikegami and FIS Nordic Ski Championships in Sapporo.
Many Ikegami High Definition cameras and associated equipment are playing an important role in the 47th World Nordic Ski Championships to provide TV broadcast coverage from Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
Ikegami Tsushinki Co.,Ltd. Tokyo (President & CEO, Masaki Matsubara) announced that many Ikegami cameras along with Ikegami's associated Broadcast Equipment, are being used for the TV coverage of the 47th FIS Nordic Ski Championships in Sapporo. These are the first Nordic World Championships in the history of this great winter sports event to be partially conducted in an indoor facility and it is the second time they have been held in Sapporo since 1972. The FIS Nordic Ski World Championships are a very popular event first held in Chamonix, France in 1924 and it has more than 80 years of fascinating history. This time many athletes have gathered drawn from 49 countries around the world. The opening ceremony was held on February 22nd at Sapporo Dome Venue followed by the Cross-country Sprint, and the competition will go on untill March 4th.
The event is covered by many World TV Networks for inland and international broadcast. TV Asahi of ANN Network Systems is acting as a main broadcaster for Japan's internal coverage. Ikegami supplies a wide range of TV systems and equipment, including Switchers, Microwave Field Pickups and a great number of Ikegami Broadcast cameras and associated equipment are being used for TV coverage of this years Nordic Ski Championships.
Ikegami's long and esteemed clients, cross TV Co.,Ltd. and TELETECH Co.,Ltd, acting as a production company are also using many Ikegami Products for this event, such as No.501 and 502 Full size TV Production Vans from cross TV Co.,Ltd. and from TELETECH Co.,Ltd. R106 and R107 Full size TV Production Vans, for TV coverage of Cross-country competition in the Shirahata-yama Venue and Nordic Combined Race.
In the main venue, which is the Shirahata-yama facility, over 40 High Definition Broadcast cameras are being employed, almost all were supplied by Ikegami. The High Definition full facility production Van working in Ohkura-yama Jump venue operated by the Sapporo Television Company was manufactured and supplied by Ikegami's team of specialists.
Ikegami's "Specialist Technical Support Center" situated in the Sapporo Office is ensuring that the Championships TV coverage is both successful and trouble free until closing ceremony on March 4th.
