Broadcast : NTV Istanbul, Turkey, placed an order for Ikegami Editcam3 Camcorder
Ikegami delivered 10 sets of Editcam3 DNS-33W non-linear camcorder for NTV's news production.
NTV is a major TV station in Istanbul, Turkey. To speed up the production process and to improve the picture quality, NTV was looking for new camcorder technologies.
After evaluation of all modern tapeless camcorder systems, NTV decided for Ikegami's technology because of the incomparable easy and fast workflow with Editcam3.
They placed an order to Integras Technologies Ltd., an experienced broadcast system house in Turkey, working closely together with Ikegami.
Editcam was the first non-linear camcorder in the world using computer technology instead of tape for recording media. The digital signals from the camera part of DNS-33W will be recorded on removable hard disk drives (FieldPak). The actual capacity of the FieldPak is up to 120Gbyte, which will provide 9 hours recording time at 25Mbit/s or 4,5 hours at 50Mbit/s. Beside FieldPak also RamPak (Solid State Memory) is available for recording and playback. The DNS-33W camcorders are switch able between the compression formats JFIF, DVCAM, DVCPRO25, DVCPRO50 and D10 (IMX). With its revolutionary technology it is no longer necessary to digitise the recorded material before editing on a NLE. The FieldPak will be put in a special FieldPak adapter (SAT) and the editing work can start immediately. Beside NLE's from AVID also other systems will be supported.
