Broadcast : WDR, Cologne decided for Ikegami studio camera HK-399PW

After intensive evaluation, public TV station WDR, Cologne, Germany, decided in favour of Ikegami for the replacement of all their studio cameras. WDR is a member of the ARD group in Germany and one of the biggest public TV stations in Germany.

WDR and Ikegami signed a contract for the delivery of approx. 130 studio camera systems with lenses and accessories.

The term of the contract is from 2004 until 2008. Within this periode all the existing studio cameras (Ikegami HK-355 and HK-355P) will be replaced by the new HK-399PW and also new studios and OB-Van will be equipped with these camera systems.

HK-399PW is Ikegami`s latest development in studio camera systems. The HK-399PW is a state-of-the-art SDTV system incorporating 14-bit A/D converter. It is the ultimate SDTV camera, employing the same ASIC as that of a HDTV camera and an AIT chip that achieves a smear level superior to that of an FIT. With its small, lightweight body and low power consumption, the camera provides superb picture quality under a range of environments. The available SE-S500 System Expander allows the HK-399PW to be operated as a studio camera with box type lenses.
