TV2/ΦST in Denmark choose Ikegami DNG (Harddisk) Camcorder
After intensive evaluation of the different digital ENG formats, TV2/ΦST in Vordingborg, regional TV station of TV2 group in Denmark, ordered DNG (Harddisk) camcorders from Ikegami.
TV2/ΦST will equip their ENG teams with 9 × DNS-201W, 2/3 inch 3-CCD camcorders with 16:9 IT sensors, switch able to 4:3 picture format.
The digital signals from the camerapart of DNS-201W will be recorded on removeable hard disk drives (Fieldpak). The actual capacity of the Fieldpaks is 20Gbyte, which will provide 90 minutes recording time at 25Mbit/s or 45 minutes at 50Mbit/s. The DNS-201W camcorders for TV2/ΦST are switchable between the compression formats DVCAM, DVCPRO25, DVCPRO50, AVR-70BH and AVR-75.
With this technology it is no longer neccessary to digitize the recorded material before editing on a NLE. Simply put the Fieldpak in a special NLE adapter and the editing can start immediately.
Beside that, Ikegamis camcorder DNS-201W provides latest broadcast technology and a host of user friendly features to make the video acquisition easier, faster and more effective.
